Our Approach to Clinical Supervision
Supervision at Shirley Psychological Services is grounded in the understanding that learning occurs best within secure, respectful relationships. The supervisory process emphasises collaboration, openness, and thoughtful exploration rather than evaluation alone.
Supervision may include:

Case consultation and clinical formulation
Ethical and professional practice support
Development of therapeutic identity and confidence
Exploration of countertransference and relational dynamics
Integration of theory, research, and practice
Support navigating the transition from training to independent practice
The approach recognises the vulnerability inherent in clinical work and supports supervisees in deepening both what they know and how they continue to learn.
Supervising Psychologist
Clinical supervision is provided by Lyndsey Hampton, R.Psych, a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience supervising Master’s and Ph.D.-level psychology interns and provisional psychologists. Lyndsey has completed formal training in clinical supervision and has worked in clinical settings that prioritise consultation, co-therapy, reflective teams, and collaborative learning.

Her clinical work is grounded in developmental psychology, with an emphasis on attachment theory, emotion-focused therapy, and trauma-informed practice. She is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and has experience working with children, adolescents, parents, families, couples, and adults in both public and private practice settings.
